This is my first time hosting IndieWeb Carnival! I’ve participated a few times since I started seriously blogging in 2025, and I’ve been wanting to host one. We even started a Chinese version of IndieWeb Carnival called BlogBlog Party, organized by Wiwi. Blogging is fun. I wish more people would blog!
Theme: No way!?
Has anything ever happened in your life that felt like a movie plot twist? Something that made you go “No way!?” but turned out to be completely true?
You know that scene in mangas where characters encounter a dramatic reveal and shout “なにィー?(Nani!?)” right before getting hit in the face? That kind of moment.

For example, I was nearly 30 when I learned that cold doesn’t cause colds. “No way!?” This shattered everything I thought I knew. My whole life, everyone around me said to bundle up and stay warm or I’d catch a cold. If cold doesn’t cause colds, why is it even called a “cold” in English? Turns out, cold alone doesn’t make you sick. My wife still teases me about it.
Or three months ago, when I was diagnosed with ADHD at 35. “No way!?” I can hyperfocus like nobody’s business, I did well in school and at work. How could I have “attention deficit” “hyperactivity” disorder? But I do have ADHD, and it completely reshaped how I understand myself and everything that’s happened in my life. It also helped me understand why I have so many passing obsessions, and I’ve since started writing a book about ADHD.
Whether it’s a small piece of new knowledge or a discovery that upends what you thought you knew, I want to know: what’s your “No way!?” moment?
What is IndieWeb Carnival?
IndieWeb Carnival is a monthly blogging event. Each month, a host picks a theme, collects submissions, and writes a roundup.
Think of it like a monthly writing prompt from a teacher, giving you a framework to channel your creativity. For bloggers, it’s a great way to discover other blogs and get more eyes on your own.
Blogs interact through links. Just by submitting, your post is guaranteed at least one reader (me), and you’ll get a link from my site!
How to submit
- Write a post on your personal website
- It must be a new post published in June
- Any language is welcome, though I’ll need AI translation for languages other than Chinese, English, and Japanese
- Please include a link to this theme post in your article, so your readers might join in too!
If you’d like, you can copy this template for the top of your post:
This is my submission for the June 2026 IndieWeb Carnival. The theme is “No way!?”, hosted by Alex Hsu.
After publishing, send me your link and name before June 30, 23:59:59 PST. I’ll update the submission list every few days and write a roundup (in Chinese and English) in early July.
