About Me
Hi, I’m Alex Hsu! 👋
I’m a solo iOS indie developer based in Asia. Currently developing several apps but the only one I’ve published is MARU: Easy Japanese. Before I started my indie journey, I worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Meta. I move around a lot and have lived in China, the US, Taiwan, and Japan.
I’m
Some of my interests:
- 🎮 Playing video games
- 🌝 Astrology
- 📚 Reading personal development books
- 🇯🇵 Japanese
- 📱 Digital Minimalism
For iOS developers who see this page, fun fact: I was actually a teaching assistant for the CS193P iOS course when I was a grad student at Stanford. That course was what got me started on iOS development!
I deleted most of my social media accounts to have a more quiet digital life. You can reach me through my email. I try to respond to all emails within 10 days (normally faster than that), except for spam or sales emails.

About This Site
This site is built with Astro.js and was created using “vibe coding” — 99% of the code was written by AI. To stop procrastinating and move fast, I took heavy design inspiration from stephango.com, the blog of Obsidian’s CEO. I plan to evolve the design into something more unique when I have time.

Indie developer, AI music miner, aspiring writer, ADHD.
