I like to read books liked by authors whose books I like
Part of Reading & Note-Taking Collection
My thoughts on reading and note-taking, including how to read more effectively, how to take notes, how to internalize knowledge, and how to turn books into wisdom.
See what my favorite authors are reading.
See which books they give five stars.
This is my favorite way to find books.
From Derek Sivers’ book list, I discovered Sum.
From Oliver Burkeman’s latest book, I found Time Surfing.
These books were published over a decade ago.
If I only chased the newest and hottest books, I might never have encountered them.
But I was lucky enough to read them.
Taste requires trust.
I trust the way Derek Sivers and Oliver Burkeman think.
So I trust their judgment.
When they say a book is great, I read it.
Regardless of sales.
Regardless of review counts.
Regardless of publication date.
Bestseller lists are full of books by influencers.
Algorithms feed you mainstream taste.
But there are too many treasures waiting for us to dig up ourselves.
Taste spreads person to person.
I like to read books liked by authors whose books I like.
