What is Movie Bug Hunting?

As a programmer, I can’t help but look for logic bugs in plots, world-building, and character designs while watching movies. Not to ruin the experience, but because finding bugs is fun in itself.

Just like debugging code, when you spot an inconsistency in a movie’s setup or find a character’s behavior that doesn’t make sense, that “Aha! Got it!” feeling is quite satisfying.

This collection features various bugs I’ve discovered while watching movies:

  • Inconsistent world-building - Why does this character have superpowers but that one doesn’t?
  • Unreasonable character behavior - Why doesn’t the villain use the simpler approach?
  • Plot logic holes - This twist makes no sense at all!

Of course, this doesn’t mean these movies aren’t good. Sometimes it’s these bugs that make movies more interesting and worth discussing.

Welcome to the bug hunter’s world.
